Edina is pioneering the use of gas engine for Syn Gas application, the result of the gasification of household, commercial and food waste, a cutting edge technology designed to eradicate the refuse of modern living.

Dependent on the type of waste utilized, the efficiency ratio is nominally 1-2 tons per MWh. Emissions comply with WID requirements. As an additional benefit, the gas engine gensets can be used as Combined Heat and Power units, providing high grade steam, LTHW or chilling via absorption chilling units. Ideal for district heating schemes, commercial processor any other localised requirements. A genuine use of waste to energy technology which truly benefits the environment.

Edina has a designed the "power island" module for a large number of proposed gasification projects ranging from 3MWe to 40MWe across Europe, the United States and Asia.
